i have been running brs rodi color changing resin for many years and i have always got much longer than 9 days out of a refill. not this time.. what happen that it changed color so quickly. it looks all used up. been on the same water for years.

1 chamber or 2? how many gallons? What does the TDS in read and TDS out?

its a 5 stage set up..im talking about my last chamber or chamber 1 if your only talking resin chambers only.

tds in is 146
tds out is 4 was 0---- 9 days ago

175tg system minus live rock(diplsaacement volume unknown).

total water thru it is hard to tell.. it supplies a 260tg and a 175tg.... its never and i mean never went this fast....

Curiosity, which resin? Cation, anion or mixed?

If you've got 146 coming into the DI, THAT will burn all of your resin up in 150 gallons, yeah.

Your pre filter and membrane are likely shot

all new membrnes installed in auguest of 2021.
just swapped out all filters on the same day 12-2. this is wht i am somewhat confused. about this resin refill
unsure about the gallons i make which there was a meter for that

I think they meant the tap is at 146 not after ro and before di part, but is that what you meant OP?

They also said it jumped to 4 now which is very odd, was that the last time you changed membrane in 2021 and just the prefilters recently?

I do not flush when making water. mine runs 24/7... supplies two atos via float switches. city water.. again please remember this has been running the same way for a few years. it's not a new install but it's the first time I burned thru resin in 9 day.

tds read 107 pre membrane and 5 post resin

Pull your RO membrane and make sure its seated properly. I burned through two new DI resin cartridges within a few days when I didnt seat the membrane all the way in. Confused the heck out of me.

do they become unseated?.. I installed them back in March of this year. and it december..

Yeah, what changed? If you swapped out membranes also then I'd look there also (as Fishgeek said). Nevermind, thought you changed them out in December 2022 also. hmmm. You pack the DI resin well and it's not channeling?

Short duration start stops like direct to an ato float can cause a significant amount of tds creep and burn through resin. The more you can make at one time the better. Flushing is pretty important too. An auto flush kit might be helpful. That said, you haven’t had problems for years so none of that is a factor. High co2 on incoming water can deplete resin as well as chlorine and chloramines. I had my resin deplete out of the blue over three weeks and four resin replacements. Just the anion side. The water company had made a repair a mile away and I’m guessing flushed the new section with something. It’s back to normal now. Just thoughts off the top of my head

right... lol....nothing has changed on my end... swamped filters and media when needed. that's all I know. lol and do.

I didnt push mine in all the way...so whether it was pressure or user installation it bypassed the membrane. I was confused because it was all new filters

well I have desided to go with the part 1 and part 2 resin from brs.i have the extra reactors
