Hey everyone!
I have been using an RO buddy rodi system and am noticing the di resin has pretty much all changed colour.

I am trying to buy resin to refill my current filter but am not sure what to buy with the different choices.

Thank you.
Paul.

It has been awhile, but I think this BRS video ()

covers the differences between the resins and advantages of potentially running them separate to save on resin waste depending on what is being removed.

I recently purchased this resin for refilling my rodi setup
Rodi Resin

Got great reviews on Amazon, is slightly cheaper than BRS and it seems you get a little more also. So far the resin has worked great and I have made 100 gallons of 0 TDS water with it.

Thanks for the link ill most likely be going with this brand. Its probably what brs uses and slaps there own logo on and super cheaper.

@Paul31733 id check out brs videos.
I was using mixed bed and switched to cation and anion. Cation goes after membrane. Anion after Cation. So far Cation has been unphased this way and will most likely last a long time. You can watch Anion burn out and change accordingly. Im going to put an extra mixed bed canister after my Anion resin but now sure if its necessary as I have 0 tds the way its set up now.
Cation>Anion is definitely the way to go if you want to save on resin.

Sorry, how is it cheaper ..... both $11.20 per pound (give or take rounding)? Unless I suppose you buy it in the big pack. Trouble with 'extra' is it won't fit in the canister so you have to store it. OK, I guess, but I prefer keeping the resin vacuum packed until I need to use it.

Hi @ca1ore . All we did was throw resin in kitchen vacuum storage bag and reseal that bag. Definetely the way to go in bulk if you have vacuum sealer and can reseal.

the Package BRS has is $61.99 for a 7.5lb bag of resin = $8.27 per lb
the package I linked is $59.99 for a 8.14lb bag = $7.37 per lb

So yes for me buying the bulk package made more sense and cheaper per pound. I have had no issues storing it so far, but time will tell. I did place it in a secondary plastic zip lock bag, so it has 2 layers of protection.

I wonder though .... how much ends up getting discarded or ‘spoils’.

I'm no expert on how long this stuff keeps if not completely vacuumed sealed but I have used about half the bag so far and have not noticed any decrease in performance.

I use a Liquagen RODI system that has this inline container to house the resin. Its the smaller container so houses less resin. I have been getting about 75-80 gallons of 0 TDS water before it needs to be changed. My TDS at the tap is about 170-180, so definitely on the lower side than what I have seen people talking about here.

So to date I have seen no ill effects with storing the bulk resin that would make me think about buying lower quantities.
