RODI Restrictor For Pressure Increase

I was just curious if there's any harm in putting a 100 gpd flow restrictor on a 150 gpd system? Reason being is that my pressure into the membrane used to be 75-80 psi, but has since dropped to 65 psi (all new filters). I don't know if those restrictors from BRS, that let you flush, wear out and that's what's causing my pressure drop or not.

So I was thinking about maybe using a smaller restrictor to increase pressure. What side effects would that have, or has anybody tried it before?

I don't believe they are interchangeable. You mentioned you changed the filters, but what about the membrane? You can also try taking everything apart, filters and membrane, then letting it all back together again. Maybe something isn't set right.

The restrictor is only the amount of resistance to force water through the membrane though, no? It's been running at 80psi for 1.5 years, through multiple filter swaps. Only dropped over the past 6 months. The pressure guage is before the membrane, so wouldn't that not affect it? Especially being since I'm still getting 94% rejection on straight cold water after 2 years (with constant flushing). I have a new membrane, so I'll try changing that.

Unless the input to the sediment filter got clogged with sediment? Because it wasn't a slow drop in pressure, it was one day at 80, the next use at 65. I attributed it to people watering their lawns during the summer. But now summers over and it's still low.
