RODI Setup FS, 6 Stage

Nice Mr Green, and that system looks great my only concern is they don't give a rejection rate. BRS has a 99% rejection rate and I only see a red letter ratio for the filter direct system. Unless things have changed most of your better systems will give you a rejection rate not a ratio... But I did learn in this hobby you get what you pay for. I had about 15K tied up in my system and it was very successful. So I was always picky when it came to my life support equipment.

The rd 150 is rated at 97-98%. I'm not pushing their equipment, only saying that $200 is a little steep for a used system. I can see 15K easily yet there are many hobbyists who set up a nice tank for less than 1K and who don't need the top of the line equipment for their success. In all honesty each hobbyists water supply should dictate what ro system they require. For myself I have a well, tds is 87 and with an aerated well system it's low in co2(2.3ppm). Over the last 30 years I've had four ro systems and the 150 is more than adequate for my needs.

Not really steep at all considering the filters BRS uses "within" the system. All filters and resin are not the same. BRS using matrix, which is a more expensive filter cartridge(definitely better though), that adds a lot of cost and says a lot about the system..

Then, add to that, it looks like he is offering a complete replacement filter set, and a brute... Very reasonable price considering the package..

You're missing the point. Not everyone needs a top of the line system. If that's what you're building then great but some are satisfied with a simple tank and can't afford the cost of the best out there. I'm sure there are many members on here who drive a 30K pickup with all the bells and whistles. I drive an 81 rabbit diesel pickup and it gets me everywhere just as dependably and a lot cheaper. I didn't intend to knock anyones sale thread but when selling used equipment regardless of quality, it's used, and the cost should generally be less than 40% of the cost of new.

Harold, your percentages is on the amount of what the filter can push out not rejection rate. And BRS filters are well above your filter direct, not only stated by myself but read what other have said. Thats there reason for a ratio and not a true rejection rate. Your wanting to filter out TDS by using as little waste water as possible, or you'll see in your display tank-some type of algae (then getting your system out of balance) water bill, and filter changes, and thats what rejection rate does. In the RODI world 99% is fantastic. This is where the money is at (filters) not to mention the amount of water your dumping down the drain. Looking at the filter direct system I did not see any way to clean the RO membrane, Defiantly a must have for longevity. I appreciate you using my selling forum to bring to my attention there are cheeper filters systems out there and I understand but I'll stand firm behind BRS and it's NSF certified(http://www.nsf.org/regulatory/regulator-nsf-certification) So please if your interested in making me an offer, comment but otherwise take the time to post a thread and learn in your own forum, No Offense. But in this hobby there are short cuts but as I've learned it pays to spend a little extra for quality. Now this can depend on your system also but I had a lot of sticks and fish so good water was a must have. Not to mention the cost of the container and it's wheel base along with heater and extra filters as well as the RO membrane was replaced at the first of the year. And I kept up a 180 system with the 75GPD. No problems.

I apologize if I offended you however if you plan on selling on the forum at least be open to comments from others whether they agree with you or not.

Again Harold, not offended! You should just do a little research before you try to tell another member what they should be selling their teams for and maybe keep it to yourself. Apples to Apples!

OK I'm gonna post on this since I see this A LOT.

If you're gonna post on a public forum then be prepared for praise AND criticism. Not everyone will like what you say or do(especially in this hobby). If so-and-so thinks you're dumb then that person thinks you're dumb. If you don't want to hear it then don't post on a public forum.

Also, if you don't like what someone is selling THEIR stuff for then move along. There is no need for comments from the 'peanut gallery' about someone's prices. If there is cheaper stuff out there then it is up to WHOEVER to do their own research. I can ask such-and-such price for whatever and if someone thinks thats a fair price then they will pay it, if not then they will move on to something else.
