I know that in colder temps it takes longer to product RODI water but I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something. I've had my unit about a year and nine months, it usually takes me 7 mins to make a gallon of RODI water with my booster pump during warmer temps. Right now it's taking about 9 mins to make a gallon of water but it is however colder, usually right around 20 degrees or lower where I live. Is the increased time just due to the cold temps or should I look into a new membrane? Units still reads zero TDS and all other filters were replaced 3 months ago...

A drop is normal. Without the boosted it would just be that much slower. I have to throttle back the waste line every Winter and open it back up in the Spring. (Though I have no booster pump.)

Ok great. Yeah I thought so but wanted to double check. I know membranes are usually replaced around the 2 year mark and didn know if that was contributing at all...

You must have a beast of an RO/DI unit.....7 minutes to make 1 gallon!!!

Yes, it's the colder temps of the water that slows you down.

In the summer, I make 5 gallons in 100 minutes. I just made water yesterday (January 3 in NJ), and that 5 gallons took 130 minutes. Normal

I'm also not sure where you got the info that a membrane lasts 2 years. My membrane is from 2007. I have a new one ready to go, but the original is still kicking.

Haha guess I just got lucky, it's the aquatec 8800 with a 100gpd RODI unit

I have an adjustable booster pump and it pushes to 110 psi when I make water. 45 mins to make 5 gallons. My membrane is 75gpd type...Temp is about 60 degree when I make water these days. In the summer it is a bit faster. I guess yours is normal then

With a booster pump? His time sounds pretty standard with a booster pump, they are great.
