I wanted to start by saying thank you to everyone who contributes their time helping others, especially veterans! Happy Memorial day weekend. I just wanted to know how long I could store my rodi water before mixing. I also want opinions on setting up a quarantine tank with 88% nutriseawater, do I still need to cycle the quarantine. I also have another 16oz of Dr. Tim's one and only

Yes, the quarantine tank should be treated just like the display tank. I've only kept RODI for about 2 months, I rotate 3 5-gallon containers so they are always somewhat fresh.

I keep my RODI in a 35g hpde tank and from that about 25g per week goes to my top off tank... at about 50% I refill the storage tank so my stand by water never really gets “old”.... I think a small power head would help any large storage tank keep the water well oxygenated between usage.

I have 12 x 30 litre water containers and also a 120 litre mixing container and have never had any issues with storing it (out of sunlight) as it has 0 TDS and just sits there indefinitely until I need it.

I just try and rotate the containers and I use around 3-4 every time I do a water change every 2 weeks or so. So by the time it’s used it could be several months old .

I use a 44 gallon Brute trash can for RODI storage. The can is only used for RODI storage. I keep the lid on so it is not exposed to light. I do not have a power head in it. With my top off consumption and using it to make saltwater for water changes, it never sits as long as a month.

I store my ro in 6 5 gallon buckets with lids and fill a 15 gal food storage container for wc.

I have a 100L storage container. It's near my laundry connected to my rodi via a float switch and auto shut off valve, which turns the rodi on/off. This is connected to my ato via a float switch. And then finally obviously my ato on a float switch to my return.

So basically it's constantly turning threw so each section wouldn't stay stagnant for more than a day.

This is how I do mine. I have to brute containers. One for fresh RO/DI and the other for mixing. I have them setup on a smart outlet timer. Once an hour my pump turns on for 5 minutes to cycle the fresh RO/DI water. Works out great. Also easier for me to do a water change when needed as well. I just turn a few valves, out the hose in the tanks, then on my phone I turn on the smart outlet. My tank is a good 30 feet from the mixing station, but to me this setup has been the next best thing to having automatic water changes.

I do not store too long since I use a lot for evaporation and have big ATO containers for my tanks.
