After a ridiculous large diatom/ algae bloom because of “rodi” water from a local water store, my wife finally gave the green light for our own rodi system. The rodi water I was getting ended up being complete waste and might as well have used tap water. The tds capped out at 50+. So two months into our new tank, I’m kinda back at square one.
I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a new in box vertex Puratek deluxe. Looking at the city water report, the water is not so great. To counter this, I added a double canister with sediment filters and single di canister downstream of the unit. See below. The water comes in on the right and goes through the following:5u filter, 1u filter, 10u carbon, chloramine carbon filter, double 100 gpd cartridges and double di cartridges. I don’t know if this is the right configuration or if a better configuration would be better?
Any ideas or comments is appreciated.
Ps: picture was taken 2 minutes after turning it on for the first time. It reads 0tds now.
