RODI System

There are a lot of RODI systems out there. Any recommendation which one to buy. I have a 100.3-gallon tank.
Any recommendations on where to place the Nero 5 Wavemaker in the tank? Is one enough for the 100.3 gallon, which has 30 gallons of sump

its going to depend on what you have in your tap water and water pressure for what rodi system you buy. no imo just one nero 5 for flow is not enough

I'd suggest the Nero 5 on one side of your tank and something similar on the other side. You probably won't need both at full speed but one won't be enough. For RODI, you probably don't need more than 5 stages unless you have bad water quality. I went with 5 instead of 4 because my county treats our water with chloramines. If you go to your county website there may be somewhere you can read up on your water quality. If funds aren't an issue I'd go with the 150gpd. Years ago I had the 75gpd one and am happy I spent the extra this time. Both my current one and my old one were BRS.

I would recommend getting a 5 or 6 stage unit from amazon or similar for less than $150. May have to add a flush valve and handheld tds meter separately,. The inexpensive ones do the same thing as the ones that cost twice as much other than possibly some bells amd whistles you may or may not want.

Whatever you get i recommend getting one that uses standard size replaceable prefilters and refillable DI.

AquaFX will always have my vote and are local to central FL. I’d recommend at least having dual DI.

Pick one that fits your budget, that you can expand, and easily find media and fittings and parts for maintenance.

I would also recommend Bulk Reef Supply options. Make sure it has a tds and flow meter so you can make sure it is working and water pressure is right.

I love my RODI from Liquagen. I think I found the company through Amazon but found lower prices on their site. It all depends on how/where you’re going to hook it up, but I went with the linked version that comes with a small reservoir and tap to install in a sink (it’s cheaper without that). The drinking water stage is among the best water I’ve ever had, at least as good as any bottled water out there. Oh, and it makes water for the fish tank too . But, would buy again just for the drinking water and all of the blind taste tests I foist on guests proves it. Actually I did buy again because I’m getting a large fish tank for the basement too, just haven’t hooked it up yet.

The flush valve and pressure switch come pre-installed so that’s one less headache you have to figure out; comes ready to go out of the box. One year later still zero TDS fish water and the drinking water still tastes perfect. I will say that I appreciate being able to put out a few gallons really fast thanks to the reservoir- it just comes in handy when you want some DI quickly.
