Just wanted to know what you have for a RODI system. I'm sure this would help alot of people. Pics and a quick explanation, just saying it.

Or not, I'm not ur DADDY! Water passes through

RO Drinking water - 2x membrane, sediment, 2x carbon, water drinking flavor filter

DI - 2x membrane, sediment, 2x carbon, water filter, small Di, HUGE DI

If u like to know exactly

OK, I'm not sure why seeing higher end RO/DI units will help anybody, but here's mine.

It's a Cirqua RO that I added a DI to for aquarium use. It came from a coffee shop that was going under. The 2 chrome tubes hold RO membranes and the pump runs at 120psi. It makes 30-40gph. My city water is about 400tds give or take 100tds any given day and just the RO system knocks it down to 2 or 3 tds. I had a DI filter on my 'spare' RO/DI system. That's it hanging in the wall above the Cirqua system and I keep it as a back up although it hasn't been used in 5+ years.

The DI is in the tray under the 40g storage tank. I also have a 200g storage tank I collect all the reject water. It's reject not waste as it's cleaner than the city water that went in. I use it to do laundry since clean, fresh water is kind of expensive here.

I have the BRS 6 stage deluxe plus. I believe it goes sediment, 2 carbons, membrane and 2 mixed bed di canisters. I have high TDS city water (from the super clean Mississippi River!) with chloramines and this works for me. I had a hose spigot installed in my basement just for this. My tank is on the other side the basement so I fill brutes for water changes and a 5g jug for top off.

I have a system similar to the BRS 4 stage deluxe system that I am selling with a new unused membrane and a enough DI color changing resin for a couple of canister refills. It is a 75 gpd system. check my posting in the sales forum if you need one.

One question, what's the proper way to "Flush the Membrane"?

I usually open a valve I by-passed before the DI resin then open the waste flow restrictor , then close the by-passed valve and just let the open gated restriction valve flow for 5 minutes. Is that the proper way?

Just wondering... Thanks in advance

As I understand it the valve on the "waste" line if close causes back pressure against the membrane and flushes it.

Right, but I wanted to make sure that opening a valve to get the restricter flow valve going then shutting it off was the right way. I never found anything online with specific flushing instructions.

Thanks
