Just out of curiosity, what type of RODI tubing can I use? I'm pretty sure I can use polyethylene tubing (1/4 OD) from a landscape store (used for drip irrigation) right? I need like 300 feet (enough to be safe) to be able to run from the garage clear across to the other end of the house thru the attic or at least for the time to fill 240ish gallons. Many thanks

Yeah the 1/4" tubing is what you're looking for. The rigid stuff....

You'll probably have to get 25ft sections and connect em...careful with that, I've had those connection points leak just a bit. Some trial and error with it all.

That's why I was think outside the box a bit, lol. They sell that irrigation line in 500 feet sections for cheap. It's pretty rigid and I wanted to avoid the connections for the same reason you had leaks. I appreciate it

They sell it by the ft in lowes, I think a reel is 200ft.

I wanted the pretty colors so I went to saltysupply.com I ordered colors for the incoming line, out going, waste, and also for my ATO Tank. I am OCD that way

Any fluid dynamic folks here? Will you be able (or should I say, will the RO/DI unit be able) to push that water 300 feet through 1/4 inch tubing? You're looking at a crap-load of frictional loss. If I can get a hold of my future son in law, I'll ask him.....he's engineering something or other. I also wonder if @AZDesertRat might have some insight on this?

youre really running it 300'?

I know I have read it some where before, but pretty sure you can run it quite a far/decent distance from the production unit. Just not sure how far is too far. 100' seems alright but 300' might be crazy talk.

I would definitely want to use one continuous piece though, so theres no risk of leaks, just breaks and animals.

I got the rubbery black tubing (1/4” OD) at least that’s what the box says. Won’t fit in the quick connect fitting. Is this what people talk about barb fittings for or did I just run the wrong stuff all through my house?
