I recently moved to a new location and am having trouble finding a place to make my RODI. My first option is the laundry room which have a space next to the washer which can fit a 15 gallon tank such as below

I plan to somehow install a flow valve or optical sensor (or both) connected to a selenoid/reef-pi setup to make water but thought it might be wise to ask if this is a good place to store and make water. I have some concerns about detergent/dryer sheets and the aerosolized chemicals tainting and leaching into the water. Is it a valid concern? My next step is to figure out something outside which is less optimal.

I've had mine in the laundry room for over 20 years. I make mine in the usual 5 gallon jugs and usually have 4 stored in the laundry room with no top on them.

Mine lives in the laundry. Had no problems in 8 years. The tank has a loosely fitting lid just to keep any accidents out.
