RODI waste water line placement

I'm moving in a few days so I've been mentally planning my new setup. I have an issue with the RODI waste water and my AWC waste water. I've been running it into my laundry room, but now I don't have the availability without putting holes in some walls. However, there is a two foot segment of the sewage line running near my water station. Can I tap a push fit connect into this line? What are my options?

I wouldn't since it would violate plumbing and health codes due to being considered a direct cross connection between potable and non potable water. There is always a chance the sewer could back up and contaminate the RO. If you can somehow install a wye or a clean out on the line you could then suspend the waste line over that with an air gap so backflow wouldn't be an issue and it would meet code. You never want to stick the waste line directly down in any drain or sewer.

Good info. What would I use to create the air gap? I'm very inexperienced when it comes to plumbing, so any information is helpful.

If I must stick it in a washing machine drain or similar I usually stick a short section of 3/4" PVC or similar in the drain then suspend the 1/4" waste line above that so it drips down into the PVC but nothing can get back to the 1/4". I am sure you have seen built in dishwashers wher they have a chrome vent cap at the back of the kitchen sink, or a RO drinking water faucet that has a small hole in the base where you can sometimes hear a sucking or gurgling sound. Both of these are air gaps between the drain and the device so they meet plumbing and health codes.

With both my drinking water RO system and my MaxCap-UHE 100 RO/DI I have the waste lines suspended over the back of the laundry sink so even if the sink were filled to overflowing the lines are just slightly higher than that.

Yes, I understand the air gap, but I just didn't know how to achieve it in my situation. The pipe I'm attempting to set up the air gap on doesn't have much surface area, and I'm unsure how to open or drill the line.
