RODI waste water won't stop

I have installed a float valve over the weekend in the reservoir. The valve is working as it should as water reached the threshold product water is shut off, to my complete surprise however, waste water continued to be produced even when no product water is made. What could have caused this?

Unit is a brand new aquafx barracuda with two membrane running in sequence. Thanks in advance!

You should install the valve on the main input to your Ro/Di filter and not the output of the filter it’s self.

The unit will continue to run for a little bit while the pressure is built up to activate your automatic shutoff valve.

You should install the valve on the main input to your Ro/Di filter and not the output of the filter it’s self.

it is not the high pressure shut off valve : )

just a simple float shut off valve at the end of the output line

It sounds like you have half the puzzle needed, you will need to purchase an Auto shut off Valve like @Skynyrd Fish linked above in order to shut flow down to the unit. A float valve in the reservoir will only shut the flow off to the reservoir itself but the unit will continue to run producing endless waste water

Cutting off the output of good water will not stop the flow thru the filter.
