I live way out in the country on cistern water. A well is in the plan, but I'm 500' above groundwater. Until then I am hauling in water for the farm. Because of that I am not wanting to haul in water just to send it down the drain. I can run the waste line from the filter back into my 2,000 gallon cistern. My household uses about 500-600 gallons a week. I have a 125-gallon and 75-gallon tanks so I'm making around 20 gallons a week give or take. Would flushing the filter back in to my cistern present a problem? It's city water and goes through a drinking water carbon filter before the RODI unit. I've searched online and can't find anything in regards to long-term effects or build-up. Thanks in advance.

According to what I found, it's safe to drink. "RO/DI waste water is filtered tap water, with a slightly higher concentration of dissolved solids. Whatever you do with tap water you'll be safe doing with the RO/DI waste."

I’d be concerned about sediment and particulate it may receive
