I am able to get my hands on some 55 gallon food grade storage drums, but I have a few questions...

I would like to link them together so that I can store 100 gallons or so (in case of emergencies), but I am not sure a bulkhead will be water tight with the curvature of the drum. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks in advance.

You can use a Uniseal for this and they work perfectly fine. They can be found here:

Watch this to know how to install:

I've seen those, but I guess I have trust issues. I just cant help but feel like those are a leak just waiting to happen. Are they that good for permanent use?

That’s exactly what they are designed for. We actually use them on biofermentation process labs to daisy chain 8, 9, 10 x barrels together and have never had s single one leak.

It fits a little snug into the hole, but loose enough you think it won’t work. Big the inside hold is tapered, so when you insert the pipe, it expands the outer diameter, creating s very effective seal.

Thanks for the info..

Also- bulkheads down low on the curved barrel will leak due to water pressure. Uniseals where designed specifically for this purpose
