I'm upgrading my rodi unit to 150 GPS from brs. Instead of using 5 gallon buckets I'm wanting to store the water in another container. Maybe a trash can or storage unit. Looming for suggestions. And pics if available. Please.

Brute trash cans. Available at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

Perhaps the most common item share by reefers.

I have 2 large and a medium for water storage and changes.

I store my RODI water in a Brute trash can. They come in a variety of sizes.

I use two twenty gallon Rubbermaid Brute trash cans in my water station. They are food safe and should not leach unwanted chemicals back into the water.

Brute cans are cheap and work great for small volumes or you can get certified water tanks from most farm supply stores. Mine holds 200 gallons which lasts me 2 months for my ATO's for all 3 tanks and so far it still is testing between 0 & 1 tds at most.

Another for brutes, I have 4, they are great for water storage, WC's, and even emergency holding containers or transport containers

Might want to check your local craigslist. Here in NJ, I can purchase 55 gallon food grade drums for 10 bucks.

Nice setup, do you have a shut off float and something for water movement and temp control in that contraption? I’m looking to get away from the 5 gal bucket method. Also is one fresh and one salt?

I like your setup aswell, I’m looking to build a setup for holding fresh water and premixed saltwater as I have both types of tanks in my house. Plus my salt tank seems to average about 2.5 gallons a week in evaporation and suspect it to increase with warmer weather

Correct. Top container is fed RODI, bottom is pre-mixed saltwater. Top container has a float switch to turn off RODI fill when full. Both containers have a small 200gph powerhead in them for circulation at all times. Bottom SW container has a heater, set at 75F. I keep SW container at same SG and Alk as my tank for water changes. Best investment I have made, after an ATO unit!
