Hey guys I wouldn’t say I’m new to the hobby because I’ve had a nano reef tank before but I was going to the store every week to get ro water and saltwater for water changes and to top my tank off. It got super annoying and I couldn’t always make it because of school and such so my reef tank started to crash and I want to start again. What would be a good rodi water system for me I’m in high school on a budget and I have well water. Hope u can help me thanks a lot.

Look into purchasing a Liquagen 5 stage RODI unit. They are pretty affordable and have great customer service.

I have a BRS 6 stage. But they sell more economical ones and have a pot load of you tube videos.

i have heard really good things about Spectrapure systems (they are reputed to have the best RO membranes) and they sell an economical model.

Welcome to team awesome.gif

Welcome to R2R! Whichever route you go, make sure you have a TDS meter at least on the output. I have the BRS 4 stage, and it does pretty good. I'm sure you can get one cheaper, but the TDS meter is a must. Glad to have you with us.

if you wait till a holiday like cyber Monday like me I got a 7 stage bulk reef supply RODI system for 200$ which is so nice no matter the water source I always get 0tds and no tds drip in the beginning it also has the tds meters you can also just used distilled but alge will be more likely to grow and more often that’s the problem I had and my friend had buying water from a lfs sometimes is good just check there tds and it can become pretty costly I know one that was 1$ a gallon and 1.50$ with salt

I went with this one. Affordable and performs great! My TDS meter always reads 0 with the water it makes.

He can always buy it and if it doesn’t work return it through amazon

I got that same RO buddy a few months back and I've got no complaints. It read 0 TDS until the resin was completely spent, then I added new DI resin (surprisingly messy job) and it was back to 0. It is extremely slow, though so if you've got a big tank, you might look for a higher flow option.
