When storing rodi water do you have to keep it circulating or something oxygenated it. Also can you store made up saltwater and how long and does it have to be kept oxygenated.

Every time after water change, I will just fill up rodi mixed with left over saltwater (maybe a couple gallon). Then I will keep the pump and heater on. About 1-2 days before water change, I will add salt. 10% weekly (15g) for my 120g.

I want to ask you about the approach of obtaining Rodi water. Which is right - to obtain little amount of water frequently or produce a big amount of water rarely? Which approach is more advategeous for the membrane in system?

Big amount is better because the first gallon or so of water has a higher concentration of TDS than water later in the run. By running the filter for a longer time, the rejected minerals get flushed out.

I have two 32 brute with a rodi system that I plan on using as my supply. One will be plain rodi water the other will be pre made salt water. So as long as I use the salt one within maybe a month it should be fine. And the rodi will be fine longer.

I remember the guys at BRS did some serious testing on storing saltwater and determined that certain salt mixes held parameters better long term. I would have to go watch the video again but I seem to remember it being alkalinity that dropped over time.

I was about to post a similar question. I'm not asking best practices. I know it's best to start with a clean container and mix overnight before a WC. Good bad to do any of these for 2-3 weeks?

1) Store oxygenated RODI with a small amount of remaining salt water in mix tank - what's left after WC
2) Store proper mixed salt water
3) Mix most of the salt and adjust before WC
