Rods in dry rock, question, aluminum rods

Uhm.. I know the difference opinions on forums come from everywhere. But I might have a concern. I put together my dry reef rock, drilled, and putty. Put the rods in. Rods are aluminum. I had someone make a comment to only use acrylic and the guy sent me an article on aluminum mixing badly with tank. Anybody have a take on this? My tank just started cycling with my diy rock towers and rods in tank. I'm not talking about thousands of dollars. Do I need to really worry.? Or no. Thanks everyone.

Yes!
I own a boat, fish the ocean, and aluminum pits, dissolves, and will give your tank issues in the future.
I never glued any of my rocks together, and have rearranged many times as well as added more rock. As your tank matures, your knowledge grows, your ideas change, and additions forced me to rearrange. 3 yrs in, and I’m buying more rock, long branch Tonga . It’s a work project, your tank, one that never ends.
Be sure to “ Cure “ your rock at least 6 weeks, more if you can, and in the dark.

I agree, aluminum will corrode and cause issues for your water chemistry.

Using acrylic or fiberglass Rod to put your rock structure together is the preferred way to do that.

You dont want ANY metal in your tank period. It doesnt matter how inert it is, it can still leech into the system. In this hobby, ALWAYS err on the side of caution.

I just pulled out the rods this morning. Lol. Picked up 2 of those driveway markers, thin plastic fiberglass rods to cut and put in instead, and I'm learning... I grabbed a can of compressed air , apparently I need to blow out my used kessil light , get the dust out of the inside too. such a huge amount of info. Hahahahaha. And I'm doing a simple cube! Not what sum of u all have. Looks like Thousands $$$$. Hahhahahah. I'm not a doctor. Thanku.
