Can anyone help me with an issue I am now having started using reef roids for my corals
And now my tank and sump are full of reddish brown crap which is also plugging my filter socks
Any help would be gratefully received
Regards

You’re probably using too much. Do a google search for How to use Reef Roids, and watch a few of the videos. That reddish stuff blocking up your tank is the unused Roids.
From what I have read it say a teaspoon for 400l
I only used 1/2 teaspoon every over day

It’s also dependent on how many corals you have. I have only a couple, in my 70 gallon system and I’ll mix a pinch with saltwater and add to the water column. It’s kinda like fish in the sense of “feed only as much as a fish will eat within a few minutes”. Depending on the coral types, mix up a paste and feed a little dribble to each polyp, and see if that helps alleviate the issue.

According to PolypLab - use 1 teaspoon per 100l (roughly 26+ gals) I basically use 2-3 of their enclosed little spoonfuls per 50 gals.

Thanks I will give that a try
Other issue is I can’t get rid of the red/brown in the water done 50% water change change filter socks ever day but not going away

I use far less than what is recommended due to it dirtying up my water. I have a RSR250 and use 1/2 tsp once a week. They seem to like it, but I could definitely see how using too much could cloud up the water. I'd cut back and make sure you're testing your water.

It will. Have you tested your nitrates and phosphates? Could you possibly have cyano now from the over feeding of the roids?

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
