Roller filter experience

I know that not everyone uses these so it's not a surprise that there isn't much info. This post isn't meant to be a review or comparison of brands. I got a Clarisea 3000 for my 180g and it's performing as advertised. I washed my last filter sock tonight (forever I hope). I'm very satisfied. Roller filter is worth checking out.

I'm not trying to bump (well yeah). Anyone comment on rollers? Mine seems great. I'm starting to test Phos and Nitrate because I'm worried it will drop too low.

What kind of sump (or system) do you have? Did it filter into filter sock holder? Care to share a pic?

Yeah. I have 2 returns and each had a sock. Eshopps. I managed to install the roller with zero mods. Plumbing is slip fit.

Sorry, I’m a total newb to sumps and plumbing. Can you elaborate or explain “slip fit”?

Literally, I was able to plumb the roller without glue or permanent fittings.

Thank you! I was looking at a large tank like a Redsea x3 900 or a Waterbox 220. I was researching the fleece filters. There was a lot of info for Klir but now much for Carisea. Appreciated.

I’ve been debating one of these for a wile. Stoked to see a good review. Why did you go with this particular model/brand

It fit, worked with my style of filter sock holder, and got good reviews. I think with others, I would have had to make mods to the sock holder and plumbing.
