Roller Mat and moving the skimmer

I’m looking into getting a roller mat for my sump, but trying to fit it in the same compartment as the skimmer isn’t going to work, there simply isn’t enough space.

Would there be any issue in having the roller mat in the first chamber, DT drains into here, Skimmer in the 2nd chamber, return pump in the 3rd chamber (that’s not moving)?

At the moment, the DT drains into the 1st chamber with the skimmer, the 2nd chamber has bio media in it. I guess I can just switch it all around to accommodate the equipment?

Any advice?

I am not thinking that the order will be that important except if the skimmer pushes bubble that don't make it to the top the of water. Some people don't like the bubbles, and if that is an issue for you be careful how close to the return pump you put the skimmer.

The roller Should be where the water drains to catch suspended particles.
