I am going to be setting up my BM roller mat filter. What’s the best mounting height to lessen water height fluctuations/ato issues. All the way submerged Or mount it above the water sump level

Once of my Reefmats is in 8.75 inches of water using the feet, not hanging. The other is hanging from the front of a RSM 500 sump and the water in that chamber is 8.75 inches. So both are situated differently in respect to water height. Both work flawlessly (500 is using the feet with the 1200 hanging).

I am actually going to potentially retract that. The 500 is on a tank for its first roll, so it will eat more paper than normal, to add some spice to it, I has also, at the same time, started dosing NoPox. So, my 500 is using twice as much paper as my 1200 currently. Once I load the second roll, I am going to start paying more attention to how much it is using and why. Now I know there is less paper on the 500 then the 1200, but I have 130g on the 1200 and 44 gallons on the 500.

Your nutrient levels and bio load can really affect fleece consumption, but on the high-end I see around ~80"/daily with a new roll and around ~40"/daily with a recycled roll.
