After lying to myself for hte past 6 months that I really don’t mind changing out the sock, and washing them and changing them out and washing them…. Would like to commit to a roller unit.
Am a reasonable DIY’er but the Cade sump is so well laid out that it is intimidating to now what model would fit most efficiently
anyone have experience with this modification?

No, but I'm looking at similarly modifying my Red Sea sump. You'll most likely need to either remove the filter sock tray segment or plumb the fleece roller unit into the adjacent chamber. I know they make a model that inserts into the filter sock holders but it's got mixed reviews.

Have you looked into the drop in rollers like the Klir drop in fleece rollers?

have just today heard back from AB customer service with a very kind offer to send me some photos for a FB group that have used a ClariSea model - seems to work and will look now at both those options

thanks

Glad to hear our customer service got you taken care of! Feel free to message us if we can help with anything else! :)

I just got the cade 1800 and swapped the emergency and main drains to bypass the socks. I think that should make it easier to install a fleece roller. Make sure to swap the pipes inside the overflow as well
