Hey guys. Just thought I'd post this incase it can help anyone.

So I ordered a bubbme magus roller mat AFR L G2 Which arrived the other day, I was very impressed with the packaging and general quality of the build material.

It took about 20 min to get it together even with bad instructions. The only bit that wasn't clear was the fact that the mini o rings are actually not used as o rings. But rather bands stretched over the blue arcrylic tabs to hold them in place.

Anyway on my search to find the best way to fit this I cam upon almost everyone having to use a pipe size adaptor to increase the inlet to 40mm.

Now obviously this will depend on what size your current main drain is but mine is 20mm internal which makes it 25mm outside. Still to small to connect with the black flexi tube that comes with it.

Fortunately where I live they use both metric and imperial plumbing sizes so I found an easy fix. Hopefully this will work for you to.

I simply cut the drain just after the union leaving enough to slid into a straight connector. Which I had cut in half leaving me with 25mm length of 32mm pipe. Which slotted perfectly into the black hose supplied.

I left the emergency drain running into the sump as usual as there isn't any water going down this unless there is a problem so I have no issues with this. Although most people seem to prefer runnij g both drains into the roller mat. In my opinion that's just way to much work for very little benefit.

The roller mat is working beautifully. Silent and I couldn't be happier if I never saw another filter sock again. Lol.

As for fitting, it took about 20 min to cutout thr glass baffles and a little bit of blood. So yes please wear some good gloves. Not ones that just keep your hands dry.

Since I was doing this I used the opportunity to serviveall the pumps and heaters. All in took me 3 hrs

Interesting solution I have not long got one of those fleece rollers from bubble magus too and am very happy with it, I had less fitting issues and blood spilling though, so far one roll has lasted from the 9 Nov until the 6th of Jan and at £10 a roll is better economy than the socks and better quality water too win win

You know redsea is launching there own roller mat who would have just fitted perfectly.

anway it looks great

P your right but the sock holders still need to be removed. And I a pretty sure the redsea version will be quiet a bit more expensive.

This BM unit was $80 delivered to Hong Kong .

No way mine cost £150 don't want to even think about the exchange rate to HKD
