i have a 200 gallons waterbox tank. And today i added 2 bottles of fritz 900 to the system. 20 min later i come down to check on my tank. And i hear a water fall. I check on my red sea 1200 roller matt. And the water inside the roller matt is overflowing into the sump. Now that wasnt the alarming part. The alarming part was thst the sump water levek was up 2 inches after my ato where its set at. Even when i manually roller the fleece in the roller matt, and the water level dropped inside the chamber the water didnt go back inside the sump to where i want it. It was like 3” higher.

Why would such a thing happen? If what im putting out is the same water amount! Like even if my roller matt overflowed its the same amout of water would the sump water level goes up 3 inches?

Is that because the 2 fritz 900 bottles i added to the system added more water to the system?

It sounds like maybe your overflow can't keep up with the return pump?
Yep I agree I’d dial back your overflow. Unless the roller isn’t working. I had that happen before make sure lense is clean and unit is set up and has power.

The roller was off when that happened

So i woke up this morning and i i was trying my roller matt the moment i pressed the button on the roller matt, and the water level inside the roller matt dropped. I have at least 2” of water higher in my sump and it literally bother me.

Alright. I watched the video but it didn't show you advancing the fleece roller and the corresponding water level increase. I see a few things, though.

First, the ReefMat is very close to the two outlet holes in the side of the glass that leads to the next chamber - and it may not be draining as quickly as it should. If you can move the ReefMat a cm or so to the left that may help. Second, if the water level increases in your return pump chamber and covers the sensors - that's completely fine - and in fact perfectly normal. The sensors won't trigger the addition of more RO unless they're completely uncovered. Finally, can you tell us what you have the ReefMat fleece roller advance set to?

The water level in the ReefMat can in fact be very close to the ReefMat sensor. Smaller advancements will result in more optimal fleece usage, ie: 0.4-0.6" (or the equivalent in mm). I also wouldn't manually advance the fleece roller to drop the water level as again, you're not getting the most effective use of the fleece roll.

What option is that? I just setup the roller matt yesterday night. My concern was why would the whole sump water level change when the water inside the roller matt drops but yeah

Matt advance length. Most of us have found that the 2nd or 3rd option from the top offers the most efficiency. If you can, try to move the ReefMat a bit to the left and don't manually advance it to bring the water level down - let the ReefMat do the work! Also, don't add the media basket or media - this will actually clog over time, restrict flow and prematurely use up a lot more fleece.

Not exactly sure what your concern is but it sounds like as the roller fills with water, the ato tops off sump. Then you advance roller and the water drains to sump, ending with a higher water level.. if this is correct- sounds like normal operation. Stop playing with it. Pick a setting, let it do its thing and observe.

U said if the return pump chamber area goes up. And covers the sensor not an issue. But how do i fix that? Do i let the water evaporate? Or do i remove water manually

You don't fix it. It will fluctuate and adjust all on its own. When the water gets low the ATO will kick-in.

it should evaporate like normal, I'd do some investigational research and watch some how to videos on the system you are trying to run.

I am not sure whats the “blow my mind emotion” is for. But its the infinia 190.5. And theres basically 0 videos about that system. And if your reply is check different waterbox sumps. Let me assure you that this new system is different than the others.

Yes it was weird to me everytime i put my hand in the sump to adjust something. The water level affecting my whole sump. Even if its 2” higher. Thats a 50 gallons system, and i did not expect 1 bit for it for my hand to affect that much water level. And yes its annoying to adjust the overblox everytime u touch something in the sump.

it blows my mind every time I see some of your threads lol :)

You should just bump the old threads instead of starting your 3rd or 4th thread on the same topic.

The issue you are having isnt just a reefmat issue, its inherent with all filter rollers and sumps.

You have to figure out what will work with your configuration. Its usually a combo of adjusting sump water height (if you can), ato float level and drainage flow into the reefmat (combo of gatevalve & return pump flow rates). There is a sweetspot, you just need to find it.
