When adding Magnesium, Alkalinity, and Calcium into my 150 gal tank today, I realized I added Magnesium twice having mistaken it for Calcium. Is it a big deal to have Mg go up 15 ppm in a single dose? I would think not, but ask because Red Sea advises not increasing more than 10 ppm / day.

My levels were low to begin with:

1225 Mg, 5.6 Alk, 375 calcium.

My plan is to raise each incrementally over several days until I reach 1350 Mg, 400 Ca, Alk 7.5-8.0

Still new to the chemistry aspect of how these three all interrelate. Am I correct to assume that my error is no big deal?

1225 is acceptable as you can even climb safety to 1300. My tank though large in volume is at 1350
Add gradually and leave cap off bottle to remind yourself that you’ve added some already
