are they the same?

as i google i get this sweet bright green pic of an oregon ME. the original looks like the oregon blasted w/ light. can you chalice gurus please give me the scoop?

they are different... the Oregon has pink/red/orange eyes and more of a lime colored base with some yellow surface pigmentation where as the Exotics Mummy Eye has orange/reddish eyes and more of a darker green base...two different corals for sure both extremely desirable

right now the Exotics ME will cost you a lot less than the Oregon but I really LOVE the Oregon.... one of my all time favorites! good luck :)

dang kevin, i want them all. it's going to be a long journey

The original mummy eye is actually more of a light green color (lime green or yellowish under high light). Its not a dark green color.

Mine turns orange/yellow under even moderate light....

I actually really enjoy the variations in color that mine gets, so I leave it where it is. I get plenty of brilliant green from other corals :) But if I wanted solid green, I would put it very low, shaded, at least in my tank.

thanks to a member here i picked up frags of the OGME and EME last night. they're my birthday presents to myself.

i am going to put them both in low light to start with and then move them up once the colors have stabilized. i think that's the best way to best the light intensity effects.

awesome pieces btw. i am in love

Are these chalices fast growers?

I think the bottom line is that they will appear different colors under different lighting in different tanks...Yes, they are moderately fast growers

Yes, the pumkin patch/miami hurricane and BGM seem to grow very well.

my pumpkin patch doubled in size (3 to 6 eyes and size itself) in 2 months!

not all chalices will eat but this one does
