I am getting a 60g cube plus sump 2nd hand and I am curious if I could fit a refugium in this sump. What would be a good way to implement one?

So I'm not saying you can't, creative people always find a way...however:

I have a 60 cube (different sump) but basically I either have a skimmer or a refugium. I had a refugium before, am trying a skimmer now after I re-set it up. Don't know how I feel about it yet, but think I like the skimmer more.

Tough decision. I love skimmers but I want a fuge for a mandarin dragonette

I might be hung for this....but I have a dragonette that does fine without a fuge. My pod population seems to be fine and thriving. He's fat and happy.

Take the filter sock out and use the first chamber for the refugium. Fill the middle section with filter foam and leave the skimmer and return pump in the third chamber. The filter sock hole could be a nifty spot to shine a chaeto light through if you drilled a hole just above it. I’d run no more than 1 or 2 x return turnover through a sump set up like this because you don’t want to blow the chaeto over the first baffle and into the foam.
