Roomy yet economical accalimation box

This clear plastic water dispenser measures 12.5" long, 5" deep, and 10" tall. It's big but the shape enables it to fit easily into tanks 60 gal. and up. Regular price US$12.5 on sale for only $6.5.

Spout easily removed. 40 holes drilled and "smoothed out". Total time spent: about 20 minutes.

No holes at a bottom half corner so in case I need to remove the box with fish still in it, there'll still be some water for the fish( by tilting the box 45 deg.).

Viewed from the top: easily hung with 2 sticks. Now top of the box is about 2" above water level. We can use fishing line or rubber bands, etc. to lower it more if desired.

In use. All fish including 10 existing fish don't mind it much. Good !

Might want to make a lot more holes even on the bottom so poop and escape. That's a nice box.

Great idea. I spent some time looking for a solution. Went with an acrylic magazine organizer/box.

More holes especially on the bottom is a good idea, although new fish will only be there for just a few days. I also have another one that has bigger holes for larger fish.
These 2 fish have been there for 2 days with no issues.

I would suggest more holes as well. There will be surprisingly little flow-through as it is now. Not zero, but not as much as you might think.

Flow through the box depends on "where" you place it. I'll add extra holes after letting these 2 fish out. However, I've been feeding them normally for the last 2 days and there's "zero" detritus on the bottom. Mainly because it's right in front of the outlet of a 400 gph filter.
