Rose BTA's getting too big!

Holly Molly, 24"?
My largest WAS about 8+ inches and it recently split.
I did a water change, and in putting the new water in the wife was holding the hose near the nem and it didnt like the flow. Anyway it moved a few inches that day, and next morning I saw 2 of them.

For those that feed yours fish or fresh scallop, where do you get these from, a grocery store? what specifically do you get?
I was feeding mine a frozen cube of mysis or squid, thaw it for a few seconds and try to place it in tentacles. It grabs it quick and i pull the baster out of way.

I feed mine 1 thumb sized clam strip a week, she also will eat some mysis during the week as it gets on her tentacles at feeding. I got them from the LFS, they are individually flash frozen, comes in a small tub container.

Does anyone actually go to a grocery store and pick up some fish or scallops or anything and go home and feed it?

I've tried the splash and cold water trick, hasn't worked yet. Just did a water change last weekend and combined the cold water change splash ..... we shall see!

Fresh scallop from any reputable fish market. You have to be careful not to get bleached seafood like pre-packaged.

ill gladly take one if your interested in letting one go?

PM me, we can discuss since you're from PA. I would never ship ...........

My Lava RBA's --taking up too much room

Don't feed them very often. The more you feed the faster they will grow. I hate to say it, stress will stimulate splitting. High Phosphates .2+ppm. Sudden changes in overall water quality, even to the better side. I had a 6 month period where I had 3-4 splits. I went from 1 to 8 Nems (RBA's). Now I have 2 at 10+"s, 1 at 5" and a baby. I rarely feed them maybe once a week or when I feel like it. I primarily use flake food.

Those are real cool too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. These guys love water movement. I have one that loves to have one side blow real hard by a power head. ?????? What ever makes it happy.
