I have a sca reef ready aquarium 66 gallons
Sump and refugium. Set it up on April 24 this year 2018. I cycled it for 3 months before any additions. I ended up buying a BtA about 5 .5 months into the set up. Awsome color and everything. Ended up getting sucked up into a power head, it was in bad shape it made it. I put it in my quarentine. After it healed and started eating I put it back in the display. Color was not bad but not the same after the stress it went through. Just recently about 3 weeks it started losing color it keeps spitting food or zooanthelea out. Today it’s not Looking good. Since it started losing color I been feeding it and later that night he will poop. Today I check amonia - 0
Nitrate -0
Phosphate -0
All I been keeping at 8 dosing two part.

My chaeto has been growing pretty fast. You think it’s taking all the phosphate out. I figuered it read 0 cause the chaeto was consuming it but that it didn’t mean it was 0 phosphate.

Here it’s is now. Most of it was hiding. It’s bigger than that in this pic. But you can see it looks pink.

As you can see the brown algae is gone and everything is doing fine except the BtA

Sorry for all the messages. Just trying to give all the info to you guys.

He could be adapting to the lights as well. Id give him some time and see how he does.

Thanks. He just keeps pooing I see the stringy stuff. And he’ll puff back up. It looks fine right now when it goes to shrivel I’ll take a pic. Thank you for responding.

Anemones actually like nitrate in the water. The can take it in directly as a food source. My nitrates are 20 and phosphates are at 0.4.

That’s an Awsome pic. How do I add nitrate without growing hair algae. My tank is still less than a year. And thanks for the help.

I have never had to add any as I have a lot of fish and feed heavily. I have several ATSs, mangroves and cheeto to help keep them down to 20. I can control the levels buy how long I light my ATSs. I know there are posts in the chemistry forum on how to increase nitrates and phosphates.
