Restarting the tank and doing a bare-bottom SPS tank. Project has just begun with a decent budget. So excited! Here are some pictures of the equipment that just arrived.
Thus far we have:
- Triggersystems Triton V2 34 sump
- Nyos Quantum 160 skimmer
- Pentair 25W UV sterilizer
- Radeon Pro G5 w/ ReefBrite attachments

Just noticed the foam insulation on the bottom. I would not use it as it will crush under the weight when the tank is filled.
I ran a 120 BB for 33 months before I took it down its in my build tbread.
Thanks for the heads up. So I should just simply place the tank on the stand?

Finished constructing my DIY canopy for the aquarium. Made solely from Birch 3/4” plywood. Next step will be paint!

Tank has now begun its fishless cycle! So excited to have it back up and running. The UV sterilizer is located behind the white cabinet for concealment. It all looks just how I planned - which is always a relief lol. Once the fishless cycle is complete, I'll begin to add some livestock! How much bioload can be introduced once the cycle is finished? I have a list of livestock I want to add but I am still deciding what should be added first...

Bought 9 little chromis and they survived the night. So nice seeing some movement in the tank after a 17 day cycle. Equipment is running well and I think this iteration of the tank is superior in every way.

Well, life got a bit busy so I ended up doing an 8 month “biome-cycle” lol. I just ordered some corals - montiporas from WWC to be exact. Look forward to the additional color in the tank.

Livestock:
- 4 Lyretail Anthias (One female turned male and it was so cool to watch day-by-day)
- 3 Saddleback Clowns
- 8 Blue/Green Chromis
- 1 Royal Gramma
- Firefish
- 1 Gem Tang

CUC:
- 8 Turbos
- 3 Emerald Crabs
- 2 Pincushion Urchin
- 8 Blue leg hermits

Frags:
- Starburst Montipora
- Red Montipora
- Purple Montipora
-Green Montipora

Water Flow:
- 2 AI Nero 5
- 1 RedSea Wave 45

Here are some pictures

Frags have been acclimating for about 10 days now and I plan to place them in their spots soon. Unfortunately, the Red Montipora had an RTN issue for the first day. Thankfully, the tissue necrosis stopped day two - I just hope the little guy can pull through. Should I intervene with a peroxide dip to prevent/kill algae growth on the exposed skeleton? Or simply let nature figure it out? Regardless, the other frags appear to be in good shape. If these montiporas stay well for the next 30 days, I'll purchase a few acropora frags.

Here are some pictures:)

I am thinking about purchasing 2 of the AI Grow Blades to accompany my Radeon XR15's. My current light supplement is the ReefBrite XHO's but those Grow Blades look great!

I have now recently added some acroporas that are displaying some great PE. Not sure of their species, but it’s nice to get some more color in the tank.

My current light setup is two Radeon XR15s with Reefbrite attachments. I notice some shading so I just purchased two AI Blade Grow for some additional spread. They should be arriving tomorrow and I will be doing a DIY mount for those guys. Will post the process and finished product once finished.

Just got my two AI blade grows!

Installation was fairly easy. I just drilled 4 holes on the side of my hood for the M8 screws.

Right off the bat, spread coverage has improved drastically. Here are some before and after photos.
