So a while ago, almost a year now, i posted a thread asking for an id on a wrasse. After a few people responded, i found out it was a rosey scale wrasse. When i first got it, it was in rough shape. I had only spent $30 on it at a reef club meeting. When i put it in my tank, it was continuously harassed by my leopard wrasse. I moved it to my parents tank where there were barely any fish, and it slowly recovered. I put it back in my tank when i started up a new 60 gal cube to see if it would get along better with my leopard. Turns out it had gotten so much bigger and much more healthy that it was bossing my leopard around. Now today it is one of the most beautiful fish i have ever owned, and im happy to have it among my small collection of fish.

Here's a pic when i first got it. You can see how its back fin is in bad shape, and the color was just not there.

Here's a few pics from today. Amazing color and has just gotten huge. Definitely the biggest fish in my tank and also the most bossy. I've probably had this fish for 18 months

Beautiful fish !

That fish is awesome. I bought mine small and as it got older it’s colors became very bright. A friend of mine was constantly asking me to sell to him. He finally got his wish. Hated to part ways but when I had to take a tank down I could only keep so much

I'm just glad I still have him. Moving him to my parents tank was only to save him. I'ts great to have him back nice and healthy
Beautiful fish! It is known to be pretty aggressive to other wrasses so be very careful if you add further wrasses down the road (use and acclimation box).
I've noticed lately its definitely dominant when it comes to feeding time. Luckily i'm pretty much done stocking except for a trio of bartletts anthias. Right now its only 2 snowflake clowns, the rosey, the leopard, and a half black mimic tang.
