GlassCages built the tank, and I'm very happy with it.

I was most nervous of the winch snapping off the mount and flying through the front of the tank. I couldn't wait to get that thing off! After that was all manual, shimmying it up, one 2x4 width at a time.

For anyone wondering, the picture below shows how the tank was moved onto the styrofoam without destroying it.

Got it on top of the 1x2's, rocked it forward to remove the back pieces, and likewise for the front.

The wife and I agreed the tank was set too far back into the nook. So my time today has been spent adding a 2in extension to the aquarium stand to pull it forward.

Back on the path of progress!

Extended the stand 2 inches forward, adjusted the overflow outlet opening on the stand, and put on the bottom fascia. Its starting to look like an aquarium!

Note to self: re-fasten beam on stand platform.

Made and installed the concealed air return and lid. Getting late, so I'm postponing the hydraulics until tomorrow.

I don't know how to break this to my wife..... I'm going to need 2 more MP40QD's for 100x turnover capability, and the 50w UV sterilizer from BRS.... then there's the looming calcium reactor... all one step at a time. Love you honey!
