Gearing up to reboot my phyto culturing, this time I want to start off by using it to culture rotifers to feed my tank. Goal is first just to see if I can do it, and secondly see if there is any positive response from some of the corals. Not sure how many on here do these cultures, but I'm planning a continuous batch style culture and want to review my plan to see if anyone has suggestions. Going to use 1 gallon glass carboys, and culture 2 gallons of Tetraselmis and Isocrysis each. Every week, I'll split the cultures. Take one gallon carboy, and split it half and half between two new sanitized carboys, for both phytos. The other gallon split and mix so it is half and half Tet/Iso. That will result in two gallons of mix. To this I want to dose the rotifers, and run it for a week with a small bubbler to aerate. At the end of the week strain it and most go into the DT, reserving a little to repeat this process.

Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Looks like a good plan. When you have it to run you can use 7 bottles of each and feed every day

Sincerely Lasse

Thanks, yea likely would try splitting the rotis up to feed overtime instead of all at once weekly.

I’m considering the same. Any updates?
Unfortunately haven't had a chance to fire this up yet. Too much stuff taking up my time. Hopefully later this summer.
