Rouge mille, who's got em? Lets see some pics. Also, is this coral sensitive or is it hardy? How does it grow for you? What kind of lighting does it like? I'm looking to get one of these and wanted to know a little more about it. Thanks

I have a frag of one I got about 9 months ago. It has been slowly encrusting and I am still waiting for it to take off. I have it under a 400W Radium with an HQI ballast. Sorry no pic.

One of the SLOWEST growing SPS corals I have ever seen.

Hm, it's been a moderate grower for me. Seems to like to encrust and stems get very thick.

The pink is so intense, it gets pinker day by day.

i hope on the dates you meant 06 of 2010 and 08 of 2010....otherwise thats the worlds slowest growing coral.

Thanks for the replies everyone. This is one that has been on my list for a while, I might just have to go for. Anyone know where one can acquire a frag? I guess I'll have to deal with the slow growth rate, although scrapz, yours seems to be growing at a decent rate. What kind of lighting do you have it under?

ati 6x54. It's actually in under where the 2 fixtures meet, par dropoff is significant there. IMO, it would be a decent grower when being smashed with light.

growth is for 2 months apart.

My experience may be from the fact that my original frag was the size of a #2 pencil point. It was given to me as a freebie with a chalice purchase, so I don't want to complain. My Rouge Milli looks about the same size as yours, and that is from pencil point to your current size in about about 17-18 months. Seems really slow to me. But it could be r/t tank conditions, etc. Mine has been blasted with 400 watt halides since day one.

The rouge is one of the slowest growing millies in the hobby for sure, but its also one of the nicest. I've had mine for a few years now.

Its not the best shot, but this is the most recent one in my photobucket.

mpoletti, Your pics of this coral are the reason I want this thing in the first place. Awesome! How big was it when you first got it and how long have you had it?

I am just now getting ready to place mine on the reef structure. Nothing like a year and a half grow out.

Maybe it'll take off now. Please post a pic, until I find one I'm going to have to settle for looking at everyone else's.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but what exactly are the colors of the rouge milli? If it is pink with blue polyps, then is the Diablo Milli one and the same?

That is my confusion too, seems the rouge milli is the one which murphys a lot. And according to many it is a millie takes long time to settle and get color, even you have everything right.

I'll try to get a pic of mine posted here tonight. This coral makes Purple Monster seem like a fast grower.

Any one have some more pic's of this...I will post some of mine soon....The Rouge is the slowest but sickest pink mille out there!!!
