After 3 years my hippo tang has just started to nip off pieces off my Zoas, any suggestions why this is occurring after such a long period of time, I feed it along with all my other fish which varies from day to day, frozen food various types, pellets and flake, I have increased feeding times per day but to no avail,

The tangs are grazing fish. If they nip at something and like it, they will come back and eat some more. As fish get older their hunger and diet normally expand. It may be time to rehome the tang to a tank that will not be harmed by your grazer.

3 good years, and then boom!

Mine did exactly the same, was fine to start and then staring eating my zoas, which are far more expensive than fish food!!

I decided to firstly stop buying zoas (good move!) and to stop worrying about it, because I love the hippo Tang, I’ve had him since he was very small and now he’s huge.

And no matter how much I feed him, he still enjoys his corals! Lol little monkey (being polite!)
