Would it be ok to use in hob filter?

I have a 10g and want to use rowaphos to help reduce phosphates.

I'd be running floss on one side and rowaphos on the other.

The hob can be turned up and down if this helps?

Phosguard is made to be efficiently run passively (like in a hob, or in a bag in a sump, etc) versus GFO which is only efficiently run in a reactor, otherwise it clumps together and only the outside of the clump absorbs phosphate.
