Royal Gramma beat up scales?

Hi... just wondering if my royal gramma has beat up scales. Ever since I bought he he hides in the rock work all day but comes out for feedings. I started to notice these discolored and slightly raised scales. I Attached some photos below.

When did you purchase it? Was it like this before you got it or just recently? Anything bothering it? maybe it just hit a rock while getting use to the tank...

It had it when I purchased it... but there’s a similar one on the right side of its body that I’m near positive he got in my tank. There’s nothing bothering it. Only two other fish in the tank that don’t bother going near it. He hides in the rock work all day so that’s what I was thinking.

Maybe it is just a color difference. It's normal behavior for them to hide around the rock work.
