Do Royal Grammas tend to swim out in the open or do they hide a lot?

I'm looking for fish that hang out in the middle of my tank and have beautiful colors, but are small-medium size. All my fish hide. Except the clownfish. They hang inside the anemone, all day. Except when my hands are in the tank, then they think it's food time haha.

First 2 months mine would hide most of the time at times I thought he was dead lol

I, too, would say 50/50.
Not the most active fish in the community, but certainly wasn't the most shy either.

Try some different anthias they school and are always out

Mine when it comes out....stays out for a long time, but always manages to go back to his cave in the back on the rock work when it feels scared or spooked.

The longer you have one the more you will see it. Mine used to come out only at feeding time and now (2 years in) it's out all of the time.

canary/fang tooth blennies rule bright yellow farm raise and they will always be out. fairy wrasses might also be good (depending on tank size?) awsome colors and always out swimming?
