Good evening R2R....while observing my tank tonight, I noticed my RG not doing so well. Her tail has been quite destroyed and she has bubbles all over her scales....almost looks like a bubble coral, type bubbles. I can't get a picture right now because of course she immediately fled under a rock as soon as I saw her. I'm going to try and catch her but hoping someone can maybe shed some light on this disease...or if she got attacked or maybe stung by a coral in the tank? I"ll try to get pictures up asap.

Micro bubbles? They can get attached to your fish and can cause some problems with the fish's breathing. Are you having any "blooms" in your tank or filtration issues?

No blooms. All the other fish look great. Tank is about 2 years old have actually had the RG for almost 3 years. It really looks like tiny balloon on his scales.

I’ll take a look and try to get a picture tomorrow. Lights went off about 45 mins ago.

Might want to check your return/outflow for "micro bubbles". A pretty frequent complaint of skimmer creating micro bubbles. They are really tiny.

I got a 30 second vid of the RG this morning. The bubbles are as pronounced as they were yesterday but her tail is torn to pieces. Still eating ok though. Should I get her out of the tank and into QT or just observe more in my DT?

Have you noticed any aggression in the tank? The other fins look fine. Looks like someone has been taking bites out of the tail. Do you have any crabs in the tank?

The tank is quite peaceful sans my two clowns that protect their territory around the frogspawn that they have laid claims to which is pretty far from where the RG spends most of her time. There is a emerald crab in the tank but I haven’t seen it in a v long time.

My guess would be the clowns. They are after all part of the Damsel family and can be very aggressive. There was a member who posted that his clown actually jumped up out of the water and bit him on the eyeball while he was leaning over the tank doing maintenance. Yikes!
