I lost my cleaner shrimp a month ago, shortly before my battle with dinoflagellates ended. Anything could have killed him, possibly even from transportation and acclimation. After watching my Royal Gramma bully another fish and move around hermit crabs I also wonder about him. I love the fish and I will not get rid of him though. When I found the cleaner shimp his bottom part was chewed on, probably just normal hermit crabs or bristle worms doing what they do for us. Are people keeping these two together with no issues? I would love to try again but cleaner shrimp are not cheap by any means, at least around here.
What is funny about the Gramma is he chooses what he picks on. Kind of like the bully in the school yard that picks on certain kids that he knows he can.
