Royal Gramma

Hey all
Can anyone help shed a light on why my Royal Gramma has decided to hang like this at the back of the tank
He is literally almost pointing upward with his tail on the sand. He occasionally darts of and then stays still like this. He was eating this morning but it’s very weird
All the other fish are absolutely fine

Sitting like that isn’t too weird for a gramma, they tend to stay in strange spots in strange ways. If there aren’t any good caves, it will just pick a corner.

mine stays in that position all day behind the rockwork. As mentioned above, make sure he has enough rock work to hide behind.

No not that I can see there is rock for him to hide in he seems to be eating ok

This is normal behavior for them.
They hang next to deep rock ledges in the ocean.

Mine tends to find a crevice at the end of the day where he’ll spend the night. He is always first to bed.

Agree with others. Totally normal.

Also… and I’ve posted this many times… best fish in the hobby.

Can’t beat the color, personality, behavior, ease of care, etc., all for a very reasonable price.

[Brazilian Reefer]

I had one in the past, for almost a week before it passes away (it got bullyed from springeri damsel and Yellowfin Flasher wrasse and stopped eating, I guess that was the cause of death) and it usually stood upside down on the rocks. Planning to give another try, with proper acclimation box.
