I've now had two royal grammas die on me in QT. I'm not sure why. The first one looked great and was swimming around and eating really well. I started Prazipro a couple days prior and then one day I come home from work and he was on his side still breathing, but died soon after. No signs of anything. He looked really healthy beforehand. I tested my water and everything seemed fine. I did a water change and ran carbon and ultimately QT'd a wrasse afterward that is now in my display.
The second gramma just died this weekend after 1 week. Pretty much the same thing. Wasn't eating as well and was hiding a lot, but looked fine the night before. I come home from work and he's on his side. He didn't look as good as the first and was fading color in his mid section. I freshwater dipped him and it looked he had flukes (larger white spots that showed up in the dip, and they fell off). I didn't start any medication though before he died later that night. I didn't think flukes would kill quickly unless he had something else too.
Is there something I'm missing or is this just bad luck with these two? Thanks.
