RR Angry Bird!

The polyps are actually starting to turn red, they have been almost a pearlescent like for a long time. I also took a frag and have put it in higher light just to see what would happen.
Any update on your angry birds? How are the polyps looking ?

So i put a frag up in higher lighting since I have it mid level in my tank, unfortunately another reefer came over and swooped it out of my tank before I could see it completely change.

I just got a frag to replace one I lost...:(
Small, but blue...
I'll update as it grows.

I have two on the rack right now...one fell into my rock anemone and the other is my friends. Luckily it's pretty hardy and is recovering quickly. The good one shows blue purple background but the polyps need to develop.

From Two guys corals, reef raft asia angry bird. The rr usa version is a tenuis and polyps barely turn red unfortunantly. Someone gotta crack the code to match rrusa picture. Theres a few tenius named/unamed out there that are VERY hard to achieve the red polyps like that.

I purchased this coral (and many others) from RR USA on Sunday. Will pick it up in a couple weeks. Will post some pics when I get them in my tank. I'll have them under T-5/LED. I just purchased a DB 80 and will be running a Giesemann Spectra with T5 and 250 radiums on that, so hopefully I'll be able to show what the coral looks like under both types of lighting.

Still just a frag, encrusting at the base nicely. Had it about 6 weeks. Cell pic.

Tempted to get one of these after seeing the mother colony at RR this past weekend. Stunner of a coral for sure.

What did it look like?....dark blue base color?...how about the polyps?

Extremely dark blue base (reminds me of the Oregon tort blue) with contrasting red polyps. Quite a bit of blue lighting over the tank but I'd say it's the same as in their picture.

Okay so I put a frag of the AB in higher Par as well as dropped the light to raise the intensity for the tank. The frag and the colony are finally pulling the red polyps like the photo from Reef Raft, it's just taking me a little over 2 years to figure it out. Here's a crappy iPhone photo of the frag I took quickly that doesn't do it justice.
