I’ve been having some problems with this type of coral darkening up. The only ones that seem to keep their color are the Kung Pow’s. I’ve had it for about two months, seems to grow fine, healthy etc. but the colors are off.
I sent my water off to triton and the only thing that was off was to much tin in the water.
78 degrees
1.026
Phos. .01-.02
Nit. 0-.01 ( I do feed 3 times a week)
Mag 1500
Ph 8.1
Cal 480
Alk 7.5
Potassium, iodine, strontium all in range, no copper.
Par is 185-200 radion sps schedule
Does anyone happen to know how to get the colors back? When I got the coral it was almost a florescent yellow and now it’s a dark pink.
Sorry for the poor pics.

I’ll start with cross checking light and get some more info on feeding (something like acro power or some other amino acid supplements) . This is a very common issue. I always hit this with some of my Monti , when I keep them in low light, they get that color , they recover once I move them to high par areas

As of now it's one of those unknowns. I have a HUGE altered ego. It's just green. My asd rainbow pheonix changes back and forth. Jf witch hunter, same ordeal. Only one that lost a tad color but looks great now is my crazy t. I'l post photos shortly.

I wish I could help, it's just something these montis do. I've seen them get "burnt" under all different conditions.

What i do know is the crazy t turns pink/orange under lower lighting. Try moving it up

I have the same issue as you. I bought it last year as a florescent yellow frag and while it has grown, it is now mainly light orange in color with blue polyps. I'd love to get the original color back again.

Thanks for the info. I’ll turn my lights up a tad and get the par a little higher and see what happens. I have a couple colonies of rainbow phoenix and they’re doing the same, they were yellow with green polyps now they’re bright pink with “pink” polyps.. it’s kind of a shame because they were all different looking and now they’re starting to look the same....
