I found this evening my RS-170 has a pinhole sized leak in the silicone. I patched it as you can see in the pic with Tunze Coral Gum. It stemmed the tide from a steady stream to a 1/10 ML trickle per minute. Hopefully this will buy me enough time to get some silicone in the a.m for a more permanent patch until I can get a new aquarium here. Not sure why it would leak here, there are no cracks but the silicone is dislodged.

I purchased this aquarium used, and it's been fine so far, and it's level I believe. I need some type of solution until I can source a new aquarium, don't need a stand or a cabinet, or anything else. Hopefully this patch will hold until the morning, I don't have another way of moving livestock etc.

If anyone has any suggestions, let me have them.

Thanks

Tom

Initiate an RMA asap, do not do anything further to alter the tank (like siliconing) or you could risk voiding the warranty.

Keep a close eye on it and make arrangements for an emergency tank (like a 20 long) if it starts to go.

* Crap, just re-read that and saw used. I'd still see if RedSea will help out in some capacity.

I have a 50 Gallon Brute on Standby. So far the Tunze Coral Gum seems to be doing a decent job, no more droplets. Luckily, it was just a small pinhole and not a crack, but I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to set my alarm to every 2 hours or so and sleep next to the danged thing just in case. I can't afford to have 34 Gallons of SW leaking through my floor to the neighbors apartment. I've had this since last May, and the whole aquarium is not even a year old. Ugh.... I'd like to just buy the aquarium without all of the assorted accessories if possible.

The worst thing RedSea can tell you is you're SOL, maybe they'll help out. Fire them an email.
