Hi there
I have a red sea reefer 250 tank. Currently using the red sea skimmer rsk300 model and can't get the thing to have a constant skim, what happens is there seems to be a build of crap in my water and the skimmer works then after a period of time just looks like a fizz of water. I've had this problem for some time now, I've tried to adjust the hight level in the sump I've had it sitting in 7inch all the way up 8inch which is what red sea say to have the skimmer sitting in but after time I get the same problem where the skimmer just shuts off and take a break for several hours before kicking back in again. there is no option to adjust the air on this skimmer but what I did try was using the valve on the skimmer cup but this too was given me problems as the body was getting big bubbles in it. has anyone had this problem can I do anything to fix this?

You know where ur power cord has that slot it goes in where ur main body of the skimmer goes over. Is that properly installed and sealed? Is only thing I can think of. Mine works fine. But I have read another guy had problems with over flowing and contacted red Sea and they said his pump was bad so maybe contact them. Sry

it's not cranked all the way up its about 1/4 way round as it always seems to overflow after a day past this, but if I do crank the level up in the body it looks like there are no bubbles in the body. more like a fizz that's it all the way open

Idk if I can help much more. I set mine right where I just start see the bubbles in the bottom of the neck. And I really haven't had mess with it yet. Only time was after I cleaned the hole collection cup out it was like it had to break back in again. Best bet contact red Sea. Pump shouldn't shut off at all or act like it's shutting off. Sorry man
