I need to pop the unit out of the rear of the tank, which will be difficult as I pushed it close to the wall. Can I do this without taking off the entire canopy assembly? Does anyone have a video how to do this and change out the side fans as well? I contacted Red Sea, but they couldn't help.

Adding an update in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation.

First, you do NOT need to remove the top of the canopy completely in order to remove the water cooling fans...but it does help.

-unplug the twin fan unit from the cord on the canopy.
-raise the corner of the canopy closest to the fan unit enough to stick your hand in
-press the two clips at the side of the fan unit INWARD (squeeze them toward each other). You can do this with one hand.
-With your other hand, push the fan unit OUT of the aquarium body casing.

You can pop the new unit (if you have one; good luck with that!) back into the aquarium without raising the canopy again.
